Beach Sunday!

It's summer time, and we have been making it a habit to go to the beach every Sunday! However, Sundays are when my weekly homework assignments are due, so I always miss out on all the fun. Luckily Chad wasn't going swimming today because he can't go in the water and sun until his new tattoo heals, so he was my photographer for the day! Before the beach we took the kids to have breakfast at Ihop. Here are some of the pictures from today!

I'm baccck!

I know, I know I suck at blogging...my last post was last year in October! So much has happened since then...Keira and Keirstyn joined baseball for a season, I started college, Keira got accepted to Kamehameha (a private school), I got a new job, Kelci started daycare (with a non relative) for the first time, I gained a thousand lbs LOL, and a bunch of other things! Anyways, I just bought a new Nikon D3000 SLR camera, so I'll definitely be blogging more often, and sharing recipes, crafts, photos, and everything else that's going on in my crazy life as a mama of three little divas! "Follow me" if you're interested!

XOXO, Tiana

Keira & Keirstyn standing proud w/ their trophies!

Just two more classes to complete my first year of college, & I'm getting a 3.9 GPA:)

So proud of our smart girl, it is really hard to get into Kamehameha schools!

My new camera that I am learning to use! LOL

Ice Cream Bar Pool Party!

Happy Fifth birthday to my beautiful, intelligent, hilarious, sweetie pie Keira Zsanelle! I can't believe my oldest daughter is five years old! These five years went by way too fast for me. I remember it like it was yesterday, going into labor at two in the morning, Chad insisting that I'm in labor & "don't have to make doodoo" (because I was sitting in the bathroom thinking that I had to go number 2 for the longest time!) hahahaha Then two hours later instantly falling in love with her the moment I saw those big beautiful eyes (and perfect eyebrows)! It was the happiest day of my life, it's the day I became a mommy. Being a mother is honestly the best feeling in the world.

Anyways, fast forward five years...my baby is five years old and were throwing her a pool party! She wanted me to make her a Candy Buffet like how I made for her sister's second birthday party but I wanted it to be different...so I made her an Ice Cream bar. An Ice Cream Bar is like a buffet of ice cream! You choose your ice cream, ice cream holder (cone, cup, waffle bowl, etc.) and ice cream toppings. The kids loved it because it was a perfect treat to eat after swimming on a hot day.

Here are some pictures of the Ice Cream Bar that I made. (She chose a Justin Bieber/Zebra print theme)

Here is her humongous cupcake cake that I made her!

Here's the kids playing a game!

A Pretty Little Princess Party!

I'm baaack! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while...I've been a really busy mommy!

One thing that I've been meaning to blog about is my daughter's 2nd birthday party! We had a Pretty Little Princess Party at Pigtails & Crewcuts in the Moanalua Shopping Center. Kelci and her friends enjoyed a day getting the royal treatment! If you're looking for a place to throw a princess or spa party for your little girl, I highly recommend this place. The staff was really nice and very patient with all of the hyper screaming little girls!

The package that I chose was $200 for 10 girls (& $15.00 for each additional child). The package included dress up, glitter braids, make-up, nail polish, a princess game, a juice box for all the girls and a tiara for the birthday girl. If you want to bring in your own food (like I did) you have to pay a $15.00 clean up fee. For lunch I served the girls peanut butter and jelly crustless sandwiches from Costco, chocolate pudding cups and cake. (I also made lihing mui pineapples, but I forgot it at home!) The party is set up in a private air conditioned room in the salon, and is 2 hours long.

For the centerpiece I set up a candy buffet. It was so easy to make, and super cute! I bought affordable vases & jars from Ross, and I bought the candies from Price Busters. I also made my own labels online to personalize the vases. For the goodybags, I gave all the girls bags to fill up from the candy buffet! & For the favors I made rice crispy princess crowns. To make that, all I did was make rice crispy treats, then I used a crown shaped cookie cutter to turn in into a crown. Then I decorated it with sparkly candy sprinkles and wrapped the finished product in cellophane, and tied it with a bow!

The girls had a lot of fun, and I would definitely have a party there again. Here are some pictures from the party!

Beef Tomato

This is my dad's recipe for beef tomato. There are several different ways to cook this, but I love my dad's style the best! This was one of the first things that I learned to cook. It is really fast & easy to make. The best way to eat this is to pour it over hot rice with extra sauce! Enjoy =)

 Beef Tomato

  • Steak (sirloin or chuck)
  • 2 packets of NOH Chinese beef tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 bell peppers
  • Ketchup (about 4 big squirts)
  • Garlic salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil
Directions
-Cut onions, tomatoes, bell peppers & steak
-Season steak with garlic salt & pepper
-In a bowl mix beef tomato packets, 2 c. of water & ketchup
-Heat oil, then brown steak & onions
-Pour beef tomato mix, tomatoes & bell peppers into the pot
- Bring to a boil
- When it comes to a boil lower heat, then cover & let it simmer for 35-40 min. (Stirring occasionally)

Baked Salmon with Mayonnaise and Capers

So I finally cooked dinner tonight! I got this recipe from my grandma Carol. I always try to learn her recipes whenever we go over for dinner because her food is sooo yummy! You can also make this dish with mahi mahi, but I prefer it with salmon! When I was younger, I would always pick out the capers because I thought it was gross, but now I love it! If you never had capers, it tastes kinda tangy n salty. People usually use capers as a seasoning or garnish. They are a distinctive ingredient in Italian cuisine. Hope you like it!

Baked Salmon with Mayonnaise and Capers

Ingredients:
  • Salmon
  • Mayonnaise (enough to cover the top of the salmon)
  • Capers (as much as you want)
  • Lemon Juice (a splash)
  • Garlic- 1-2 bulbs (we like it with 2)
  • Pepper
Directions:
-Season salmon with pepper
-Mix Mayo, lemon juice, garlic & capers in a bowl
-Smother over salmon
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
-Bake for 20-25 minutes (until salmon is flaky, do not overcook!)

*Line pan with foil for easy clean up
